Cap2Cap Century — flat tires and Fat Tires

It was a hot and humid day for the Cap2Cap Century on Saturday.  We rode from Williamsburg to Richmond and back.  The ride was well organized, although the rest stop food doesn’t hold a candle to the Mathews Rotary Club’s rest stop at the Tour de Chesapeake*.   The hot weather on the first long ride of the season brought on some cramping after the 50 mile mark but all of our riders made it back safe and almost sound.  We had to fix a couple of flat tires along the way and it was necessary to soothe psychic pains with Fat Tires at the ride’s end — but overall a good ride!

The food and entertainment at the Richmond end made us think that for future Cap2Caps it might be better to start off in Richmond, since there is a choice for this particular ride.

*(OK, we’re biased, since several of us are in the Mathews Rotary Club, too).
